You provide me with the completed questionnaire, measurements, and photos. Everything you send in informs me about your space. It tells me how you, your family and friends use the space, and your priorities for the project.

Through the design survey I learn your design style, colours, patterns and what your personal definition of comfort is.

The questionnaire lets me know about your vision and plans for the future of your home; when do you plan to sell (if ever), is it a rental, an

investment property what is current value and the value compared to others in the area, and what is your budget for this project. We never

want to undertake a project that will negatively impact your home’s value versus your community.

The questionnaire also helps identify areas you may be concerned with such as budget management project management, or reviewing

unexpected pitfalls.

The consultation must be between the primary resident their spouse / partner/  legal owners

such as common-law, and myself.

We arrange a date and time for the consultation to review the  information you have sent and

the questions I have developed thus far. It is also important for you to be prepared with any questions you may have for me. 

The phone consultation lasts 1 – 2 hours depending on the scope of the job. While on the phone, I review your requirements and outline my thoughts on direction for the design concept I have in mind.

From this point we flesh out the initial concept together until we have a solid design plan for the space (including but not limited to, colour scheme, intentions with furniture and room layout).

Using the room diagram and measurements you prepared for me I create a 2 dimensional (2-D) floor plan that is to scale and shows your entire space by room with a layout of all furnishings. The finished 2D floor plan is acceptable for submission for permit applications.

We also produce a realistic 3 dimensional (3-D) floor plan for you. Using software we remove your existing furnishings, change the wall colour, and based on your design plan, re-design the room with new furnishings, flooring window covering, art and décor.

During the design process we communicate quite often. This ensures you’re informed and in the loop with any and all decisions.

Typically it takes a couple of tweaks to get the design just right. There are three revisions included in your package.

Through the design process I save a collection of products and resources that have been included in the design. I gather up all design elements for the project and compile them into comprehensive lists and include a visual called a “moodboard”. A moodboard is a collection of all products that go into the creation of a design.

The itemized list I provide will include the full product name, a product or SKU number, manufacturer name, retailer, web address to find the product, retail price (trade price if I am able to provide it) and information on alternative products that would work instead of.

With the moodboard and product list I also provide you with a page of tips, tricks and resources for bringing your project to fruition.

Other information / tasks we can provide in this final step are budget assistance and management, project timetables, screening of trades and full project management.
